Martha Dvorak, 88
Martha Dvorak, 88, of New Prague, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.
Martha was born April 12, 1925, in New Prague, a daughter of John and Anna (Rheinstein) Zvanovec. She attended New Prague Elementary and High School, and lived her entire life in the New Prague/Jordan area. She married Edward F. Dvorak on May 8, 1954, in New Prague. Martha farmed with her husband and son, enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing and housekeeping. She particularly loved her cats and dogs on the farm.
She is survived by a son Edward M. Dvorak, Jordan; two sisters Irene Baumgartner, Minneapolis, and Camille “Connie” Hanson, Owen, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 11, 1984; her parents; and two brothers Eugene and Stanley Zvanovec.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, June 5, at 10 a.m., at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, with Rev. Dave Barrett officiating.
Interment was at the Czech National Cemetery in New Prague.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. until the time of services.
