Martin Ceminsky, 86

Martin Marty Ceminsky, 86, of Montgomery, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Central Health Care Center in Le Center.

Marty was born in Lexington Township, Le Sueur County, on May 1, 1923, a son of Martin and Frances (Trezinsky) Ceminsky. He attended country school and later entered the United States Army on October 1, 1943, serving until January 24, 1946. He was united in marriage to Harriet Fitzpatrick at Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery on February 1, 1947. They farmed near Montgomery and Marty also worked for Green Giant and Murphy Motor Freight. He was a member of the Montgomery American Legion and VFW posts, and was a past president of the Faribault Eagles Club.

He is survived by nephews Michael (Deb) Barten, Eagle Lake and Tom (Deb) Barten, Mankato; nieces Laurie (Wally) Callenius, Shakopee and Sharon Johnson, Mankato.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a brother Donald Ceminsky; and a sister Rita Barten.

Funeral services were held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on Monday, March 29, at 10:30 a.m.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery, with military honors provided by the Montgomery Area Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Ron Kopet, Mike, Tom, Eric, and Jason Barten, Patrick Tiede and Brian Balfe.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery.
