Mary Claire “Molly” Urtuzuastegui, 11

 
Mary Claire “Molly” Urtuzuastegui, 11, of Montgomery along with her step-father Condon “Sparky” Hulgan passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, due to an automobile accident. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. 
 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with additional visitation one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
 
Mary was born on May 30, 2002, in Phoenix, AZ to Doreen Devoy and Brion Urtuzuastegui. She was a sixth grade student at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Montgomery.
 
Mary was a member of Girl Scouts and 4-H where she showed chickens and rabbits at the Le Sueur County Fair. She was also a member of Center Stage Dance, Holy Redeemer volleyball and softball teams, Holy Redeemer Spirit Club, and  Singing Angels Choir at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
 
Mary was also a member of the school patrol. She was a representative from the the school who was chosen to go to Legionville Camp last summer. 
 
She won third place in the American Legion Minnesota State Essay contest for 2012-13 with her essay on “What freedom she enjoys most in America”.
 
She loved her family and always approached things passionately and whole heartedly.
 
Mary is survived by her parents; Doreen Devoy-Hulgan of Montgomery and Brion Urtuzuastegui of Yuma, AZ; brothers William (14) and John “Jack” (9) Urtuzuastegui of Mont-gomery; grandparents Joyce and Pat Shipp of Yuma, AZ; step-grandparents; James Hulgan of Cornville, AZ, and Josephine Brewer of Pine, AZ; great-grandparents Dorothy Starek of Yuma, AZ and Josephine Urtuzuastegui of Somerton, AZ; three aunts; one uncle; two cousins; family and friends.
 
Mary is preceded in death by her grandparents Alex Urtuzuastegui, William Michael Devoy, Norma Jean Devoy; great-grandparents James Starek, Charles Urtuzuastegui, Mary Elizabeth Devoy, John T. Devoy, Howard Easton and Ruth Easton.
