After John’s death she bought a house in lower North Mankato where she resided for the last 20 years.

The farm was Mary’s life during the time she and John were actively farming. After her move to North Mankato she felt free to “guide” her son, Greg, in the operation of her farm.
She thoroughly enjoyed visiting with and hearing about her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities.
