Mary Ruhland, 88
Mary Ann Ruhland, 88, of Montgomery, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague.
Mary Ann was born on September 8, 1924, in Heidelberg, the daughter of Frank and Mayme (Odenthal) Prochaska. She graduated from Montgomery High School. Mary Ann married Jerome Ruhland on June 6, 1947, at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg. She was a homemaker and also worked at Munsingwear as a seamstress. Mary Ann was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary, CCW, KC Auxiliary, 3rd Order of Franciscan, and the Degree of Honor. She and her husband served as grand marshals of Kolacky Days in 1987. Mary Ann enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren, her faith and church, and cooking, especially roast beef dinners on Sundays for her family.
She is survived by children Gary (Linda) Ruhland, Montgomery, Robert (Janet) Ruhland, Montgomery, Dale Ruhland, Montgomery (and previous spouse Diane Palmstein, New Prague), and Mary (Kenneth) Tupy, Montgomery; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and brothers Francis James Prochaska in infancy and Francis John Prochaska.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery at a later date.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, and Thursday at the church one hour prior to the services.
