Mary Wondra, 78
Mary P. Wondra, 78, of Montgomery, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague, with family at her side.
Mary was born on October 1, 1932, in Montgomery, a daughter of John and Mary (Handsuch) Petricka. She attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from Montgomery High School. She married Marvin Wondra at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on January 27, 1951. Mary was a homemaker and also worked part time assisting Bill Shaughnessy and Jerome Schleis with their tax services. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Degree of Honor, and loved having coffee with friends and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband; children Mary Lynn (Larry) Gross, New Prague Patti (Mark) Pany, Montrose and Ted (Colleen) Wondra, New Prague; a brother Francis Fran (Corinne) Petricka, Northfield; nine grandchildren Lisa (Eric) Schroeder, Teddy Wondra, Sam (Jody) Pany, Ben (Staza) Pany, Joseph Pany, Mary Kate Gross, Laura Gross, Stephen Gross and Leah Gross; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter Sarah Wondra; and five brothers John, Victor, Harold, Teddy and Robert Buddy Petricka.
Funeral services were held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on Monday, Nov. 22, at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery at a later date. Pallbearers will be Sam Pany, Ben Pany, Joe Pany, Teddy Wondra, Stephen Gross and Eric Schroeder.
Visitation was held at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m., and Monday for one hour prior to the service.
