Matilda Stangler, 100

Matilda Rebecca Stangler, 100, of Kilkenny, died on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at the Waterville Good Samaritan Center.

Born on September 10, 1906, in Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of Julius and Julia Thomas. In 1910, she went to live at the orphanage in Owatonna until she went to live with Steve and Alma Pittman in 1916. Matilda married Elmer Stangler Sr. in April 1925. She was a lifelong resident of Kilkenny. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, crocheting, playing piano and toe dancing in her early years. She was a member of St.
