Maurice "Buzz" Brown, age 71
Maurice "Buzz" Brown, age 71, of Northfield, formerly of New Prague, died Monday, August 22, 2016, at his home.
Buzz was born February 2, 1945, in St. Peter, the son of William and Frances (Sullivan) Brown. He was raised in Le Center and graduated from high school there. He married Kathleen Selly in Le Center and the couple made their home in New Prague. Buzz worked for National Foods and later for Fareway Foods in Northfield. Buzz and Kathleen later divorced. For the past 15 years, Buzz has been working at St. Olaf College.
He is survived by two sons: Robert of Las Vegas, NV, Jeff of Montgomery; a daughter Heather of New Prague; two granddaughters, Jordyn and Paityn; his brothers William, Jr. (and Kay) of St. Peter, Kevin (and LeAnn) of Cleveland, and Thomas (and Pat) of Franklin Kentucky; his sisters Lois (and Ron) Solheid of Belle Plaine, Margaret "Peggy" (and Jerry) Cooney of Le Center, Marilyn (and Curt) Schueneman of Mankato, and Denise (and Harold) Honken of Nicollet. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 beginning at 10 AM at Church of St. Dominic in Northfield. Visitation will be on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Bierman Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will at St Thomas Cemetery in Le Sueur.
