Mayme C. Kosanda, 93

Mayme C. Kosanda, 93, of Faribault, formerly of Montgomery, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Visitation is planned for Thursday, Sept. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with burial following at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be Patty Murphy, Mary Lokken, Elaine Anderson, Debbie Morgan, and Jeff, James, Steven, Mark and David Lambert.

Mayme was born to John and Albina (David) Budin on March 21, 1912 in Shieldsville. She attended the Foley Country School by Trebon, then married Tom Kosanda at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in November, 1929.

Mayme farmed with her husband, Tom. They purchased and operated the Shieldsville Grocery Store for many years, retiring in 1962 to Florida. They lived there for 18 years. After Tom’s death in 1979, she returned to the area.

Mayme loved to bake, cook, and sew. She also enjoyed card playing and flower gardening.

Surviving her are son Clarence (Marian) Kosanda, Faribault; daughter Helen (Ray) Lambert, French Lake; sister, Albina Viskocil, Montgomery; sister-in-law Harriet Budin, Lonsdale, nieces, nephews, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband Tom on March 29, 1979; parents John and Albina Budin; brothers Emil and John Budin; brother-in-law Joseph Viskocil; and two grandchildren, John and Sally Lambert.
