Suicide Grief Support Group meets Mar. 27 Family, friends and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide are welcome to attend the monthly meeting of the Suicide Grief Support Group. The meeting will be held from 7- 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, at the Mayo Clinic Health System, 302 Second St. NE in New Prague. Please enter through the Emergency Room doors (southwest entrance) and take the southeast elevator (#2) to the lower level and follow the signs to the Jameen Mape Conference Center. No pre-registration or fee is required. Please call Tom Handrich at 952-445-0107 for additional information.

Parkinson support group meets March 27 The Parkinson support group will meet from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the New Prague Library, 400 Main St. E. Care givers, family and friends are encouraged to also attend. The group will have Pam Graham as a guest speaker. The Parkinson support group normally meets the fourth Tuesday of each month, although that is subject to change. There are no meetings in July or December. PFLAG meeting to be held March 27 PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Persons) meet the fourth Tuesday of each month, 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1300 Main St. E, in New Prague. The next meeting is March 27. For questions about the support group call 952-292-6758.

NAMI Support Group sets two meetings NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living with a mental illness. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. A family support group meets in Northfield on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, from 7-8:30 p.m., at the Northfield Community Resource Center, 1651 Jefferson Parkway, in Room HS 222. Separated & Divorce Group sets meetings Area Separated & Divorce Support Group "Healing Broken Relationships" meets from 7-8:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month at St. Wenceslaus Church in the Church Rectory, 215 E. Main St. New Prague. The next sessions are April 3 and 17. Come and experience good support as you move through this time in your life. People of all faiths are welcome. Spring Bake Sale & Boutique is April 7 A Spring Bake Sale & Boutique will be held at the St. Patrick's Social Hall 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 7. The event will feature fresh-baked cinnamon and caramel rolls, as well as lots of home-made goodies including cookies, cakes and breads. Home Party representatives and vendors will also be on hand with a wide selection of household items and gifts. St. Patrick's is located at 24425 Old Hwy. 13 Blvd., northeast of New Prague. St. Patrick Council of Catholic Women is sponsoring the event.

BTYR to award two $1,000 scholarships Beyond the Yellow Ribbon South of the River is pleased to award two $1,000 scholarships to two deserving individuals, one a graduating high school senior and one a returning student residing in Scott County. Eligibility requirements are: the applicant must be a dependent of a member of the military (active, reserve, retired), or an individual who is currently serving, or is a former service member, or has a delayed enlistment and resides in Scott County. Deadline is April 15, 2018. Application form and information can be found on the group’s website: www.btyrsouthoftheriver.org.
