American Legion Post 45 to meet on Oct. 17 American Legion Post 45 in New Prague will be having their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, with lunch at 6:30 p.m.
American Legion Auxiliary to meet Oct. 17 The American Legion Auxiliary Unit #45 will meet Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Park Ballroom Clubroom. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. The Dessert Committee for October is Charlene Skluzacek, Trudy Smith, Lois Solheid and Doris Suvanto.
ENM Fall Book Sale to be held Oct. 27-28 The Elko New Market Friends of the Library will be holding its 2017 Fall Book Sale at the Elko New Market Library, 110 J. Roberts Way, just off of Main Street (Scott Country Road 2) in Elko New Market. The two day sale will be held from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, and from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. There will be great prices for the books at the sale. While the group has many books, more, plus volunteers, are needed.
NAMI MN to offer Parent Training class in Prior Lake NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will sponsor a free Parent Training on Chemical Use by Adolescents from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Prior Lake Library, 16210 Eagle Creek Ave. SE. Participants of this class will learn: How chemical use is often used as a negative coping strategy to deal with mental health conditions, current drug trends, signs and symptoms, how parents can help their child be drug-free, and information regarding Sober Schools. This class will be taught by Beth Samuelson, LADC, who presently works for the Insight Program, which is a Sober School. Parent Nights are funded in part by the Dakota County Integrated Children's Mental Health and Family Service Collaborative.
