Halloween Kids Kraft on Oct. 29 Enjoy a spooky morning of stories and crafts during Halloween Kids Kraft at the Scott County Historical Society from 10:30-11:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. They will be reading Inside a House that is Haunted by Alyssa Satin Capucilli, and Monster Needs a Costume by Paul Czajak, plus they will be making funny monster masks to take home. Feel free to wear Halloween costumes, too. This event is for ages 2-8 and is free, but registration is required for supplies. The Kids Kraft program introduces children to museums, supports literacy and provides an opportunity for great family fun. Lonsdale Golden Agers meet Nov. 1 The Lonsdale area wide seniors (Golden Agers) will meet at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the Lonsdale IC Civic Center. Euchre will be played and a late afternoon Fish and Chip dinner to follow from Jessy’s Food Mart. All seniors are welcome to attend. For more information call Don at 507-744-2408.

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon meeting is Nov. 1 Beyond the Yellow Ribbon South of the River (BTYR) will be meeting from 7-8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the lower level of the Prior Lake VFW Club. All meetings are open to the public and the group welcomes people’s participation as well as their ability to volunteer. VFW Post 5145 to hold Nov. 3 meeting New Prague VFW Post 5145 will hold its monthly meting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Park Ballroom club room, 300 Lexington Ave. S. Lunch will be served at 7 p.m. All veterans are welcome to the meeting. Thank a Veteran Day lunch in honor of Veterans Day will be held at the Scott County Law Enforcement Center’s conference room 241 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8. ENM Book Sale to be held Nov. 4 and 5 The Elko New Market Friends of the Library will host a Book Sale to benefit the Elko New Market Library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5. This will be held at the Elko New Market Library, 110 J. Roberts Way in Elko New Market. There will be great low prices for books, plus there will be a Bag Sale from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday. Book donations are still being taken and volunteers are needed.
