Spirit of Life Church hosting Harvest Party Oct. 27 Spirit of Life Church will be hosting a Harvest Party at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27. Activities will include a chili cook-off, bonfire, hayrides, kids games and free candy. This event is open to the public. For more information call the church office at 952-758- 2894.

Mobile Ultrasound to be on display at St.Wenceslaus On Sunday, Oct. 27, a 31- foot Image Clear Ultrasound mobile unit that offers free pregnancy testing and ultrasound services will be on display in New Prague. The mobile will be parked in front of the St. Wenceslaus Parish Activity Center from 8:30 a.m. to noon and will be open for tours. The unit uses sound wave images to visually evaluate fetal development. ICU Mobile, the sponsoring agency, plans to take the van to several south metro cities, including Apple Valley, Burnsville and Shakopee, New Prague, and other communities. Volunteers are being specially trained to operate the equipment and mentor young women who use the service, including local women Mary Nytes and her daughter, Molly Havlicek. The van is scheduled to begin service in November.

New Prague Sportsman’s Club meets Oct. 31 The New Prague Sportsman's Club will be having its monthly meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. The meeting will be at the American Legion Club Room. All members are encouraged to come. Any questions call Billy Bartusek at 958-758- 8655.

VFW Auxiliary holding drive for Homeless Veterans The VFW Ladies Auxiliary is once again sponsoring a drive for Homeless Veterans' needs. Donation boxes are located at New Prague State Bank and West End Liquors through Friday, Nov 8. On the wish list for donations for men and women are winter wear, blankets, hygiene products, clothes such as jeans and shirts (L to 3XL), pillows and backpacks. Any additional items are greatly appreciated. All donations will be given to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, in Mankato, for distribution to homeless veterans.

New Prague Senior Citizens meet Nov. 1 The New Prague Senior Citizens will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the New Prague City Hall second floor club room. Elaine Pavek and Henry Schindele will be in charge of the lunch. The bus picks up senior citizens for local shopping every Wednesday. The bus goes to Burnsville the third Thursday of each month. For reservations call 952-496- 8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings and cards on the first Friday of each month at 12:45 p.m.
