Scott County HHW Facility will be closed Nov. 11



The Scott County HHW Facility will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day. The facility will resume operation on Saturday, Nov. 13.


American Legion Post 45 to meet Nov. 16



Charles Borak Post 45 of the American Legion, New Prague, will hold a regular monthly meeting at the Park Ballroom clubroom at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16.

Annual dues for 2011 may be paid at the meeting.

Lunch and refreshments will be served afterwards.


Lonsdale Golden Agers will

meet Nov. 16



The Lonsdale Golden Agers will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the Crusader Civic Center. Cards will be played and turkey sandwiches will be served. Lunch committee will be Harriet Budin, Angie Skluzacek and Marion Skluzacek. All seniors age 55 and over are welcome. If you would like to join call Marion 507-744-2187 or come to meeting.


Alzheimer's Support group meets Nov. 16



The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine and its Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association provide resources and a support group for community members whose lives are touched by Alzheimer's disease and other memory loss disorders.

The group will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Kingsway Retirement Living in the Ratzkeller on The Lutheran Home Campus.

Separated/Divorce group meets

Wednesday, Nov. 16



St. Wenceslaus Parish in New Prague sponsors a Separated/Divorce Support Group that will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at St. Wenceslaus Church, lower level of the church, 215 E. Main St. New Prague.

The Wheatland Twin Lakes Sportsman will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the American Legion Club Montgomery. Public is welcome.


Alpha offers family portraits for clients



If you are a current or previous client of Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center in Savage, we are offering free family photos in time for the holidays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Alpha Pregnancy Resource Center in Savage. This is a free service for current or previous clients only. Reservations are required no later than Nov. 8.

Cannon Valley Civil War Roundtable meets Nov. 18



The next meeting of the Cannon Valley Civil War Roundtable is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Faribault Senior Center located at 19 Division Street W.

Topic for the meeting will be the 1862 Dakota Uprising. A question and answer period will follow with light refreshments served.

The Queen of Peace Hospital Auxiliary will be sponsoring the New to You Christmas Boutique. Featuring gently but lovingly used Christmas items from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m on Thursday, Nov. 18, in the Jameen Mape Conference Center at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. Refreshments and silent acution will be available.
