Prairie Quilters meet Thursday, Nov. 13

The Prairie Quilters of the New Prague area will hold their November meeting at the New Prague Middle School on Thursday, Nov. 13. The group will meet in room E109 from 7 to 9 p.m. Please bring all the materials for the pineapple quilt block.

Name tags are due and there will be show and tell. Anyone wanting more information, or who would like to join the group, call Reidun at 952-758-3596.

Car Seat Safety Clinic is Nov. 15

The New Prague Ambulance Service, in cooperation with New Prague Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, will hold its monthly Car Seat Safety Clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 15, at the local dealership. Certified technicians from New Prague Ambulance Service will check the child safety seat, including boosters, to ensure that the product is safe, fits the child and is properly installed.

This free service is offered on the third Saturday of the month. Call Diane Hrabe, 952-758-2530, for more information.

Mass Transit presentation is Saturday

The Minnesota River Valley History Roundtable is exploring the history and current use of transportation. The Scott County Historical Society will host a mass transit presentation by Michael Leek, Shakopee Community Development Director, on Saturday, Nov. 15. Leek, will discuss transit history, the expansion of mass transportation, and the use of transit as an alternative to high gas prices.

Alzheimer's group meets Nov. 17

The Lutheran Home-Belle Plaine and its chapter of the Alzheimer's Association provides resources and support groups for community members whose lives are touched by Alzheimer's Disease and other memory loss disorders. The monthly support groups are free and open to the public.

These groups will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, in the Hope Residence Conference room at The Lutheran Home-Belle Plaine. Caring and Sharing will be the topic.

Legion Post 45 meets Nov. 18

Charles Borak Post 45 of the American Legion, New Prague, will hold a regular monthly meeting at the Park Ballroom clubroom at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Dues for 2009 may be paid at the meeting.

Lunch and refreshments will be served following the meeting.

Legion Auxiliary meets Nov. 18

New Prague's American Legion Auxiliary Unit #45 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Legion Ballroom.

Plans will be finalized for holiday packages for the local military personnel, and area veterans' winter needs. Lunch committee is Babe Pumper, chair; Virginia Hoyt, Doris Kubes and Luella Lapic.

Lonsdale Golden Agers meet Nov. 18

Lonsdale Golden Agers will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Crusader Civic Center. Cards will be played and there will be Subway sandwiches for lunch.

Serving committee is Jean Senfter, Gladys Sirek and Harriet Budin. Seniors are welcome to attend.

Separated and Divorce Group to meet

The area Separated and Divorce Support Group meets the first and third Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 pm. at at St. Wenceslaus Church, lower level, 215 E. Main St. in New Prague.

The next session is November 18. People are welcome to come and experience good support as they move through this time in their life. People of all faiths are welcome. for more information call Mary at 952-873-6781.

Wheatland Twin Lakes Sportsmen to meet

The Wheatland Twin Lakes Sportsmen Club will hold it monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 18, at the American Legion Club in Montgomery.

The public is welcome to to attend this meeting.
