Senior Citizens to meet Nov. 4 The New Prague Senior Citizens will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the New Prague City Hall second floor meeting room, 118 Central Ave. N. The bus picks up senior citizens for local shopping every Wednesday. For reservations call 952-496-8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings and cards the first Friday of each month at 12:45 p.m.

“Our Czech Heritage Club” not meeting in Nov. To all the members of “Our Czech Heritage Club” there will not be a November meeting. Instead the club has graciously donated its meeting time and location to the New Prague Historical Society. Their meeting will be at the New Prague Memorial Library in the large meeting room at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, with a presentation by author Dr. Tom Kajer. All are welcome.

New Prague Area Historical Society to meet on Nov. 9 The annual fall meeting of The New Prague Area Historical Society will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the New Prague Public Library, 400 Main St. E. Dr. Tom Kajer, a native of New Prague, will be the featured speaker. Dr. Kajer is the author of “They Ate From One Bowl” and “Changing Homelands,” the diary of a young Czech woman in Minnesota in the 1860s and 1870s. Both books focus on the early history of New Prague. Members and the general public are welcome to join the group for the meeting.

Prairie Quilters to meet on Nov. 10 The Prairie Quilters of the New Prague area will meet from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, at New Prague City Hall, 118 Central Ave. N. Shirley Schoenbauer will present a program on Pineapple Quilt construction. The group will have a short meeting and show and tell. The Prairie Quilters loves new members. St. Patrick Men’s Club Euchre Tourney is Nov. 11 The St. Patrick Men’s Club Euchre Tournament will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at the St. Patrick Social Hall, north of New Prague. Registration is at 6:30 p.m. with the tournament starting at 7 p.m. There is a price per team. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top four teams. Food and beverages will be available during the event.

Handmade, Vendor and Bake Sale to be held Nov. 12 “Fall” into shopping fun at the Handmade, Vendor and Bake Sale, being held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at St. Wenceslaus Church’s Parish Activity Center, 215 Main St E, in New Prague. There will be books, scarves, handmade jewelry, baby items, purses, wood crafts, canning products, crochet items and much more. These make great gifts for Christmas, weddings, birthdays, baby showers and other events. A light lunch will be available.

NAMI offers class in Shakopee Raising a child or adolescent with challenging behaviors can be difficult. Learn when and how to seek help, develop parenting strategies, learn the ins and outs of special education and other educational supports. This free, one-day workshop is for parents and caregivers of school-age children, and is approved for two hours training for foster care families. Presented by NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the Children’s Challenging Behaviors class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Scott County Government Center, 200 Fourth Ave., Room GC221, in Shakopee. Robotics team fundraiser set The New Prague Pizza Ranch will have a Community Impact Night benefiting the New Prague High School Robotics team Thursday, Nov. 10. A percent of purchases and any tips will go to help the team build their 2017 competition robot and compete in the regionals in March and April. The event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m.
