Sportsman Club will meet Nov. 29 The New Prague Sportsman Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29. The meeting will be at the American Legion Club Room. All members are encouraged to attend. Windmill Animal Rescue offers Mrs. Claus photos Windmill Animal Rescue will give the opportunity to have photos of Mrs. Claus taken with your pets and other family members. This year there are two locations and dates. From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday Dec. 1, photos will be at Windmill Animal Rescue Thrift Store, 135 Main St S, Lonsdale. (507-210-0118). From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, photos will be at Windmill Feed and Pet, 350 Main St, Elko New Market. (952- 461-2765). People can bring their own pet or use one of the shelter's. Make sure pets are on leashes or in carriers. People can call the above numbers for more information and for the suggested donation for the photos. All proceeds go to Windmill Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization.

LS County Legion, meets December 5 The Le Sueur County Council of the American Legion and Auxiliary will hold a quarterly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Le Sueur. The Le Sueur Post 55 and Unit will host the event at the Le Sueur City Hall, 203 South Second St. Committee reports will be given. Included on the agenda will be the county veterans’ service officer’s report, a bingo report and the upcoming flag poster contest. Taylor Funderman, an officer in the National Guard, is the scheduled guest speaker. Membership dues for the posts and units for the coming fiscal year are due and will be accepted. Legion and Auxiliary members of posts in Le Sueur County are welcome to attend this meeting. Lunch and refreshments will be served afterwards.

NAMI offers parent resource groups The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota provides support groups to help parents discover resources to meet the challenges of raising a child with mental illness, learn coping skills and develop problem-solving skills. Parent resource groups are facilitated by a parent who has a child with a mental illness and who has been trained to lead support groups. A parent resource group meets in Prior Lake on the first Thursday of each month, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at The LINK Event Center, 2200 Trail of Dreams. The next meeting is December 6. A daytime group also meets in Prior Lake on the third Tuesday of the month, 10:30 a.m. - 12 noon at Caribou Coffee Company, 7745 Egan Drive. VFW Post 5145, Auxiliary to meet Thursday, Dec. 6 Gopher Post 5145, New Prague Veterans of Foreign Wars, and its Auxiliary, will hold their regular monthly meetings on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Park Ballroom, New Prague. A pot luck dinner and refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. with the meeting to follow.

Senior citizens to meet Dec. 7 The New Prague Senior Citizens will meet for a potluck luncheon at 12 noon Friday, Dec. 7, at the New Prague City Hall second floor club room. There will also be a gift exchange. Members on the cookie committee for Mala Strana on Tuesday, Dec. 11, are Elaine Pavek, Franny Yackley, Dorothy Jirik Moore and Muretta Prokes. The bus picks up senior citizens for local shopping every Wednesday. The bus goes to Burnsville the third Thursday of each month. For reservations call 952-496- 8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings and cards the first Friday of the month at 12:45 p.m.
