Car seat checkup to be held Jan. 19 New Prague Area EMS and New Prague Auto Group will hold its free monthly car seat checkup event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 19, at the New Prague Chevrolet dealership.
No appointments are necessary; walk-ins are welcome. Each safety inspection takes roughly 20 minutes per car seat. Information: Diane Hrabe (952-758-2530).
Suicide grief support group meets Jan. 22 Family, friends, and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide, is welcome to join the monthly meeting of the suicide grief support group. It next meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Mayo Clinic Health System hospital, in the Jameen Mape Conference room, in New Prague.
Enter through the "Emergency Room" doors (southwest entrance). Take the southeast elevator marked "2" to the lower level (B) and follow the signs to the Jameen Mape Conference room. No registration or fee is required. Information: Sally Schmid (952-758-4735).
Golden Agers to meet Jan. 22 The Lonsdale Golden Agers, for those age 55 and older, will meet at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Lonsdale Civic Center.
New members are welcome. Cards will be played. Subway sandwiches will be served. The Lunch Committee is Delores Kalina and Lillian and Bernard Tupy. Information: Mary (507-744-2608).
CPR, First Aid classes are Jan. 26 Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague is offering Heartsaver CPR from 8 a.m.-noon and First Aid from 12:30- 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, in the Jameen Mape Conference Center.
The Heartsaver CPR class is designed to teach CPR for victims of all ages, automatic external defibrillator (AED) use and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. The First Aid class will include first aid basics and instruction on medical, injury and environmental emergencies. Registration and information: 952-758-8956.
Mom’s Night Out set for January 26 New Prague Alliance Church will host a “Mom’s Night Out,” with divine dessert, a coffee bar, crafts and a silent auction with items from local businesses. The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at New Prague Alliance Church.
