VFW Post 5145, Auxiliary to meet Thursday, Jan. 3 Gopher Post 5145, New Prague Veterans of Foreign Wars, and its Auxiliary, will hold their regular monthly meetings on Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Park Ballroom, New Prague. Lunch will be served at 7 p.m. with the meeting to follow.
New Prague Senior Citizens meet Jan. 4 The New Prague Senior Citizens will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the New Prague City Hall second floor club room. The lunch committee will be Lucine Wendorf. The bus picks up senior citizens for local shopping every Wednesday. It goes to Burnsville the third Thursday of each month. For reservations call 952-496-8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings and cards the first Friday of each month at 12:45 p.m.
Pet Adoption Day Set for Jan. 5 Carver Scott Humane Society volunteers will hold a pet adoption Saturday, Jan. 5, from noon to 3 p.m. at PETCO in Chaska, located at Highway 41 and Pioneer Trail. CSHS is without its own building and all pets are housed in foster care.
Kittens, and cats ages 4 months to 9 years-old will be available. There will be tuxedo, solids, bicolored, tabby, calico and tortie cats to choose from and a few that are declawed. A blind kitten will also be there.
Dogs four months to 10 years will be there. Some of the dogs include: Dachshund, border collie, pointer, husky, pitbull mix, beagle mix, Chihuahua, shepherd mix, terrier mix, yellow and black lab mixes, and Heinz 57 mixes.
All cats and dogs have been micro ID implanted, vet checked, wormed, had shots updated, checked for friendly temperaments, and age appropriately spayed/neutered. Separated/Divorce Group meets Jan. 8 The Area Separated & Divorce Support Group meets the first Tuesday of the month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church, lower level, 215 E. Main St. New Prague. With the New Year's holiday, the next session is Jan 8. Come and experience good support as you move through this time in your life. People of all faiths are welcome. Winter Texans will meet Jan. 28 Winter Texans from New Prague, Jordan, Belle Plaine and the surrounding areas will hold their annual luncheon Monday, Jan. 28, at Harold's Country Kitchen, 211 East Hwy. 83 in Donna, TX.
