Car seats checkup are February 16 New Prague Area EMS and New Prague Auto Group will host their free monthly car seat checkup from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 16, at the New Prague Chevrolet dealership.
New parents, grandparents and others who transport children on a regular basis are welcome to attend. Each car seat inspection takes approximately 20 minutes and includes checks for recalls, tips for correct installation and other resources related to child passenger safety.

Legion Post 45 meets Feb. 19 Charles Borak Post 45 of the American Legion, New Prague, will hold a regular monthly meeting at the Park Ballroom clubroom 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19. Dues for 2013 may be paid at the meeting.
Lunch and refreshments will follow the meeting.
Legion Auxiliary meets Feb. 19 Charles Borak American Legion Auxiliary Unit #45 of New Prague will have its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19. On the agenda will be upcoming events for the year, including the Minnesota tour of National President Peggy Thomas. She will be making a visit at the Montgomery Unit on Monday, March 4, with a dinner and program on the agenda. Reservations must be made for anyone wishing to attend.
The Auxiliary will host evening Bingo at Mala Strana at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14. The Lunch Bar Committee for the February meeting: LuVerne Musil, Jane Oestreich, Kayla Oestreich and Babe Pumper.
New members are always welcome to find out about benefits and scholarships available from the Auxiliary.
Lonsdale Golden Agers meet Feb. 19 The Lonsdale Golden Agers will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Lonsdale Civic Center. Fish will be served.

Alzheimer’s support group meeting is Feb. 19 The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine and its Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association provide resources and a support group for community members whose lives are touched by Alzheimer’s disease and other memory loss disorders. The monthly support group is free and open to the public.
The next meeting is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Kingsway Retirement Living in the Ratzkeller. "Caring and Sharing" will be the topic. Anyone with questions, call Sarah Beckius at 952-873-2161.
Therapeutic Respite Care is available for loved ones with Alzheimer’s/Dementia for the hour while people attend the support group meeting.
CAP Agency WIC Voucher pick-up The CAP Agency WIC voucher pick-up dates for all residents of Scott County are the second Monday, third Thursday and fourth Tuesday of each month. Pick up time is from 9 a.m. – 12 noon and 1 – 4 p.m. at the CAP Agency, 712 Canterbury Rd. S, Shakopee.
The next pick up dates are Thursday, Feb. 21, Tuesday, Feb. 26, and Monday, Mar. 11.
