Parkinson support group meets April 26 The Parkinson support group will meet from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the New Prague Library, 400 Main St. E. Care givers, family and friends are encouraged to also attend. The Parkinson support group normally meets the fourth Tuesday of each month, although that is subject to change. Book Sale at Mayo Clinic Health System A Book Sale to benefit Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague will be held from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26. The event will be in the hallway between the Gift Shop and Radiology on the main level at 301 2nd St NE.

Suicide Grief Support Group to meet Family, friends and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide are welcome to attend the monthly meeting of the Suicide Grief Support Group. The meeting will be held from 7- 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, at the Mayo Clinic Health System, 301 Second St. NE in New Prague. Please enter through the Emergency Room doors (southwest entrance) and take the southeast elevator (#2) to the lower level and follow the signs to the Jameen Mape Conference Center. Author to speak at St. Patrick’s Church St. Patrick’s Church welcomes the public as the church hosts Laura Sobiech, author of "Fly a Little Higher: How God Answered a Mom’s Small Prayer in a Big Way," at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27. Sobiech was the mom of Zach Sobiech, a Minnesota teen who battled cancer and attracted international attention with his song "Clouds." St. Patrick’s Church, 24425 Old Highway 13 Blvd, is located north of New Prague.

Celebrate spring with Kids Krafts April 30 The Scott County Historical Society is celebrating spring from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Saturday, April 30. This Spring Fun Kids Kraft will have readings of Waiting for Wings by Lois Ehlert and Hurray for Spring by Patricia Hubbell and making special butterfly craft to take home. Separated & Divorce Group to meet May 3 The Area Separated & Divorce Support Group meets the first Tuesday of the month from 7-8:30 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church, lower level, 215 Main St. E. in New Prague. The next session is May 3. Come and experience good support as you move through this time in your life. People of all faiths are welcome. Marian Symposium to be held May 3 A Marian Symposium will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 411 Fourth Ave. SW in New Prague. This lecture about the Virgin Mary is free and open to the public. It will open with a Rosary, followed by the lecture about Mary in scripture, Marian apparitions and pilgrimages to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, WI, and the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima. Refreshments will also be available. Speaker is Father Dave Barrett, who wants to foster devotion to Mary.

Mother’s Day Tea on May 7 Families with children ages 5 and up are welcome to a special Mother’s Day Tea, from 1:30-3 p.m., Saturday, May 7, at the Scott County Historical Society. Savor tea and treats in the historic 1908 Stans House, learn about proper tea etiquette and take a special family photo in the Victorian photo booth. Plus, make a Victorian trinket box to take home or give to mom. There is a cost for children and adults. Register through Shakopee Community Education.
