Children entering kindergarten need at least one dose of DtaP, MMR and IPV given after the fourth birthday. Children entering kindergarten and seventh grade must also show proof of either having received varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or of having the disease. For more information on immunizations needed for school entrance, call 952-496-8555.

Those eligible are children from newborns to age 19 who meet state guidelines for the MnVFC program: Uninsured; insured with an unmet co-pay or deductible; on Medical Assistance, Minnesota Care, or GAMC. People should bring their medical care with them. There is no charge for children’s vaccine, but a donation per immunization is appreciated to help cover administration costs. No one will be refused services if they are unable to pay.

Vaccines available include all regular childhood vaccines required for day care and school enrollment. Varicella (chickenpox vaccine) is available only at the Workforce Center in Shakopee.

There are also adult vaccines, including tetanus, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A and adult pneumonia (pneumococcal) vaccine available for a fee. Call 952-496-8555 for current fees or with any questions.

Consent forms for persons under the age of 18 years must be signed by a parent or guardian. They should bring their child’s previous immunization records with them. Immunizations given at public clinics should not be substituted for routine well-child visits with health care providers.

The cost of adult tetanus vaccine will be increasing soon. Adults are encouraged to obtain a booster dose of tetanus vaccine every 10 years. If it has been more than 10 years since a person’s had a dose of tetanus vaccine they are encouraged to come to one of the walk in clinics to receive a booster dose now before the price increases.
