St.Wenc. CCW meets May 13 The St. Wenceslaus Council of Catholic Women will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, in the basement of St. Wenceslaus Church, 215 Main St. E, with Rosary, a light supper and installation of four new officers.

Lonsdale Golden Agers meet May 14 The Lonsdale Golden Agers will be meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, in the Lonsdale Civic Center. Potluck will be served, everyone should bring a dish to pass. The lunch committee is Lillian Uhlir, Marion Sirek and Gladys Douda. Cards and bingo will be played.

May 18 fundraiser at JT’s Hideaway The Phyllis Irish Misfits Beverage Bash and Silent Auction will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at JT’s Hideaway, 125 Main St. E, New Prague. The fundraiser is to help the team, which is participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life on Friday, July 19, in Lakeville.

At the May 18 event there will be lots of amazing silent auction items and great prizes with entertainment by the Devon Worley Band. Outside the Law – Exhibit Opening May 23 Scott County Historical Society's "Outside the Law" Casino Night exhibit opening is from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23. The exhibit offers a glimpse into Prohibition- era Scott County.

Among those dealing craps, blackjack and roulette will be Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke, his predecessor John Schmitt, educator Barry Kirchmeier and local attorney Kevin Wetherille. There will also be Charleston dance lessons, samples of gin, a cash bar and appetizers.

Tickets are available before the event and at the door at the Scott County Historical Society. Those attending must be 21 or older.

HHW Facility closed for Memorial Day The Scott County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility will be closed on Saturday, May 25, for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. The HHW Facility will reopen on Wednesday, May 29. The RE-USE Room will also be closed on Saturday, May 25.

The Scott County HHW Facility is located at 588 Country Tr. E. in Spring Lake Township. The facility provides safe and proper management of unwanted household chemicals and products, as well as electronics, appliances, and tires.
