Sporsman Club will hold May meeting The New Prague Sportsman Club will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, May 30. The meeting will be at the American Legion Club Room starting at 7 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend. Any questions, call Billy Bartusek at 958-758-8655
MS Support Group meets June 4 Multiple sclerosis not only affects the person with the disease, but their loved ones as well. The MS support group at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague provides a setting for those whose lives are touched by multiple sclerosis to connect with others while engaging in lively discussion and gaining valuable information.
The next meeting will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in the Solarium at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague. Preregistration is appreciated. For more information, call the Mayo Clinic Health System public affairs department at 952-758-8956.
Separated/Divorce group meets June 4 An area Separated & Divorce Support Group meets the first Tuesday of the month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church, lower level, 215 E. Main St. New Prague. The next session is June 4. Come and experience good support as you move through this time in your life. People of all faiths are welcome. VFW Post 5145, Auxiliary meets June 6 Gopher Post 5145, New Prague Veterans of Foreign Wars, and its Auxiliary, will hold their regular monthly meetings 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Park Ballroom. Lunch and refreshments will be served prior to the meeting starting at 7 p.m.
St. Nicholas to hold chicken cookout June 16 The Church of St. Nicholas, 51 Church St. in Elko New Market, will hold its 44th Annual Chicken Cookout from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16.
Masses are 8 and 10 a.m. with church tours from 1 to 2 p.m., people should meet in the church. Activities include children’s games, bingo, music, crafts and baked goods, a prize drawing at 3 p.m. There will also be refreshments such as ice cream.
The chicken dinner includes a half-chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, dinner roll, cookie, coffee or milk. Take out meals are available. Shuttles to the church from around town will be available, watch for signs.
