Senior Citizens meeting on June 6 The New Prague Senior Citizens will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the New Prague City Hall, second floor meeting room, 118 Central Ave. N. The lunch committee will be Dorothy Jirik Moore and Joan Sticha. The bus picks up seniors for local shopping every Wednesday. The bus goes to Burnsville the third Thursday of each month. For reservations call 952-496-8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings and cards the first Friday of each month at 12:45 p.m.

Rice Co. ‘Chronic Conditions’ classes set Rice County Public Health, Northfield Retirement Community and Southeastern Minnesota Area Agency on Aging are teaming up to offer "Living Well with Chronic Conditions" classes for area residents. This evidence based chronic disease self-management program helps people with chronic conditions live healthier and fuller lives. It is a free six week workshop series to help people feel better, be in control, and do the things they want to do. Pre-registration is required by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 6. Discussion areas include self-management skills, practical ways to cope with pain and fatigue, better nutrition and exercise choices, new treatment options and methods for speaking with a health care provider or family member about health.

Classes begin Thursday, June 9, and will be held every Thursday through July 14, from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Northfield Retirement Community-Fellowship Hall. The workshop series is free, however a book deposit fee is requested, but refundable at the conclusion of the classes.

Lonsdale Golden Agers to meet June 7 The Lonsdale area wide seniors (Golden Agers) will meet on at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 7 for social and card playing. A chicken dinner will be catered by Fred’s Market at 4 p.m. Everyone over 60 is welcome to attend. For additional information call Don at 507-744-2408.

Czech movies at library June 8 "Our Czech Heritage Club" will be holding its next meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, at the New Prague Memorial Library, 400 Main St. E. The program for the evening will consist of a series of short movies in Czech with English subtitles.

Second Saturday Tours on June 11 The Scott County Historical Society (SCHS) welcomes people to join them for Second Saturday Tours on June 11 for a free guided tour of the museum and Stans House led by the SCHS Curator of Education. The tour starts promptly at 1 p.m. To participate, check in at the museum front desk before tour start time. There is no need to pre-register. Questions? Father’s Day Ice Cream Social on June 18 Treat dad to cool homemade treats at the Father’s Day Ice Cream Social, Saturday, June 18, from 1:30 – 3 p.m. in the Museum Garden at the Scott County Historical Society. Turn the hand-crank and help make ice cream, play old-fashioned lawn games and enjoy a craft activity. Those attending must register in advance and there is a small fee per person; call 952-445-0378 or email info@scottcountyhistory.org to register. The Scott County Historical Society is located at 235 Fuller St. S., Shakopee, three blocks south of the intersection of Co. Rd. 101 and Fuller St.
