V.F.W. Post 5145 Auxiliary to hold summer picnic



Gopher Post 5145, Veterans of Foreign Wars, New Prague, and its Auxiliary, will hold their annual summer family picnic on Sunday, June 26, at the American Legion club room, Park Ballroom.

The event begins at noon.


Suicide Grief Support group to meet June 28



The Suicide Grief Support group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, in the Jameen Mape Conference Room (lower level) at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague.

Enter through the Emergency Room doors (southwest entrance). Take the southeast elevator, marked 2, to the lower level and follow the signs to the Jameen Mape Conference Center.

Family, friends, and anyone affected by a suicide death is welcome. No registration is required and there is no fee. Call Sally Schmid at 952-758-4735 with any questions.


Golden Agers

meeting June 28



The Golden Agers meeting will be held Tuesday, June 28, at 1 p.m. in the Crusader Civic Center in Lonsdale. Bingo will be played. Fish dinners will be served by committee Irene Horejsi, Elsie Sirek, Jean Senftner, and George Shambour. All seniors age 55 and older, come join the fun. Call Marion 507-744-2187.


Comedy juggler extraordinaire to perform June 29



Alan Johnson, Comedy Juggler Extraordinaire will be at the Bookawocky Pool Party across from the New Prague Pool, 401 Lexington Ave. The fun will start at noon on Wednesday, June 29. If rained out the event will be held at the New Prague Library.


Tick-Tock beat the on clock June 29



Tick-Tock beat the clock for teens 6th grade and up. If you like Minute to Win It you'll love these challenges which will be held at the New Prague Library at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 29.


New Prague Sportsman Club

meets June 30



The New Prague Sportsman Club will be holding its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, at the Union Hill Bar. All members are encouraged to come. Questions call Billy Bartusek 612-221-4621.


Reading and art

fun June 30 at Stans Museum



Join us for a morning of reading and art fun at the Scott County Historical Society Stans Museum. Local author Cathy Isles will read from her new book Faces Who Are We and lead a kid friendly art project at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 30. Reading and program are included with general admission and books are available for purchase at event.

New Prague

senior citizens

to meet July 1



The New Prague senior citizens will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday, July 1, at the New Prague city hall second floor club room.

Lunch committee for the meeting will be Lucene Wendorf and Angie Korbel. Lunch committee for the August 5 meeting will be Martha Hrabe and Muretta Prokes.

Buses pick up senior citizens for local shopping every Wednesday. The bus goes to Burnsville every third Thursday. For reservations call 952-496-8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings, cards and bingo the first Friday of the month.
