Scholarship will honor New Prague resident who died of cancer The Chaska High School Class of 2006 will hold their 10-year reunion this summer, and as part of the planning they will honor the late Larry Bachman. Bachman was a Chaska High School teacher and New Prague resident who died earlier this year after a brief bout with cancer. The class will have a tree planted in his honor on campus. In addition, Larry’s wife Serene is starting the Larry Bachman Memorial Scholarship, which will be for students wishing to further their studies in education. "Larry’s passion was teaching, so what better way to honor his memory than helping young adults follow their dreams of being a teacher," said Kristie Vice, a member of the reunion committee.
