Scott County Fair entry deadline approaching The Scott County Fair is accepting Creative Arts, Education, Horticulture, and Livestock entries now through Monday, July 15. All items must be pre-registered. Registration information can be found at scottcountyfair. com. The Scott County Fair is held Wednesday through Sunday, July 24-28.

Bereavement Support Group meets July 16 A Grief Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month in the parish office building of St. Wenceslaus Church, 215 Main St. E, in New Prague. The next meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16. This group is open to all who are grieving the loss of someone significant in their lives. All are welcome to get the support that is needed at this time in their lives. For more information call Deacon Bob Wagner at 952-758- 2716.

Alzheimer’s support group meeting is July 16 The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine and its Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association provide resources and a support group for community members whose lives are touched by Alzheimer’s disease and other memory loss disorders. The monthly support group is free and open to the public. The next meeting is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at Kingsway Retirement Living in the Ratzkeller. "Caring and Sharing" will be the topic. Anyone with questions, call Sarah Beckius at 952-873-2161.

Therapeutic Respite Care is available for loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia for the hour while people attend the support group meeting.

Heartsaver CPR and First Aid classes offered at MCHS Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague is offering Heartsaver CPR from 8 a.m.-noon and First Aid from 12:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, in the Jameen Mape Conference Center. The Heartsaver CPR class is designed to teach CPR for victims of all ages, automatic external defibrillator (AED) use and relief of foreignbody airway obstruction (FBAO). The First Aid class will include first aid basics and instruction on medical, injury and environmental emergencies.
