Jordan Chruch holds festival

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan is holding its fall festival Sunday, Sept. 17.

Masses are at 8 and 10 a.m. There will be a homestyle chicken and ham dinner from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Activities include a kids funland, silent auction, bingo, crafts, music, canned and baked items and more.


NAMI Support Group to hold meeting

The National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) Support Group will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at the Valley Green Workforce Center, 752 Canterbury Road South, in Shakopee.

The NAMI in Scott County is a support and outreach group for those affected directly or indirectly by mental illness (bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, etc.).

Alzheimer's Support Group to meet

The Lutheran Home - Belle Plaine and its Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association provides resources and a support group for community members whose lives are touched by Alzheimer's Disease and other memory loss disorders. The monthly support groups are free and open to the public.

The monthly support group will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in the conference room at The Lutheran Home - Belle Plaine. An open forum - Caring and Sharing - Welcome Back will be the topic of the meeting.

Legion Auxiliary meets Sept. 19

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit #45 of New Prague will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the New Prague Park Ballroom.

The October Spaghetti Supper letters, tickets and posters will be distributed at this meeting. Kitchen committee for this meeting includes Lorraine Wermerskirchen, Sam Souk Wollin, Frances Yackly and Carol Bauer. New members and visitors are invited to join them.


Fibromyalgia Support Group meets

The Fibromyalgia Support Group, to be held in the Solarium at Queen of Peace Hospital, New Prague, on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 7-8:30 p.m. is a confidential setting where individuals and families can talk freely about issues affecting their daily lives. The group's purpose is to provide positive common experiences for those afflicted with fibromyalgia and those who love them. Family members are welcome to attend.

Wheatland-Twin Lakes Sportsmen meet

The Wheatland-Twin Lakes Sportsmen's Club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at the American Legion in Montgomery.

Fall raffle drawing will be held after the meeting. Everyone is welcome.


Legion Post 45 to meet Sept. 19

Charles Borak Post 45, American Legion New Prague, will hold a regular monthly meeting at the Park Ballroom clubroom on at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19. Lunch and refreshments will be served after the meeting.

George Tupy, commander of the Post, say the new meeting time of 7:30 p.m. was voted on by members earlier this year. He welcomes all legion members and any vetern who would like to join to attend this meeting.


VFW and Auxiliary meeting is Sept. 21

Gopher Post 5145, New Prague Veterans of Foreign Wars, and its Auxiliary, will hold their regular monthly meetings at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in the upstairs meeting rooms at the New Prague City Hall.

There will be lunch and refreshments after the meeting.
