American Legion to meet Sept. 20

Charles Borak Post 45, American Legion, New Prague, will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Park Ballroom clubroom at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Lunch and refreshments will be served after the meeting.


Legion Auxiliary meets Sept. 20

The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #45, of New Prague, will hold their regular monthly meeting on the evening at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Park Ballroom. The August fundraiser will be discussed, along with upcoming meetings.

The Auxiliary will be handing out letters pertaining to the spaghetti supper, which will be held on October 11.

The lunch committee for the September meeting is Shirley Zvanovec, Peg Wermerskirchen, Clarice Gergen and Doris Kubes. Visitors are welcome.


Wheatland Twin Lakes Sportsmen meet

The monthly meeting of the Wheatland Twin Lakes Sportsmen’s Club will be held on at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the American Legion in Montgomery. A fall raffle drawing will be held after the meeting. Everyone is welcome.


Fibromyalgia Group meets at hospital

The Fibromyalgia Support Group, to be held at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20. The group is held in a confidential setting where individuals and families can talk freely about issues affecting their daily lives. The group’s purpose is to provide positive common experience for those afflicted with fibromyalgia and those who love them. Family members are welcome to attend.

Prostate Cancer Group meets Sept. 21

The Prostate Cancer Support Group, held at Queen of Peace Hospital, New Prague, on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 6-7:30 p.m. will feature Dr. Abraham Kern speaking on Side Effect of Prostate Surgery: Incontinence.

This group provides a confidential setting where individuals and family members can talk freely about issues affecting their daily lives. The group’s purpose is to provide positive common experiences and serve as an educational forum for learning more about the disease, its treatment and other issues related to prostate cancer.

Live Strong group will meet Sept. 22

The Live Strong Cancer Support Group will meet from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in the Jameen Mape Conference Center with group facilitator and hospital chaplain Nicole Schmidt.
