Special Parents group meets Sept. 13

Special Parents of Special Kids support and informational group will meet at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Shepard of the Lake Lutheran Church, 1376 McKenna Rd. NW, Prior Lake. They welcome all parents of children who have special behavioral, learning or emotional challenges to join them to share experiences and resources.

Czech Heritage Club meets Sept. 14

The Czech Heritage and Social Club will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, on the second floor of the New Prague City Hall.

The club meets monthly to study and retain the Czech Heritage of the area communities.

The evening’s program will be the Domaci Children Dancers under the direction of Deb Ziskovsky. Refreshments and treats will be served following the meeting.

Everyone is welcome to come to this meeting.


VFW, Auxiliary meet Thursday, Sept. 15

Gopher Post 5145, New Prague Veterans of Foreign Wars, and its Auxiliary, will hold their regular monthly meetings at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the upstairs meeting rooms at the New Prague City Hall.

Lunch and refreshments will follow the meeting.


Foster Parent Meeting is Sept. 19

Lutheran Social Service (LSS) is sponsoring a Foster Parent Information Meeting at First English Lutheran Church, 204 Second St. NW, Faribault. The information meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, in the Fellowship Room. People can come and learn how to become an LSS license foster parent and share their gifts of love and compassion with a child in need.

Southern Valley Alliance offers childcare

Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women will offer free on-site childcare during their weekly evening and daytime women’s support groups. Anyone, who is or has been a victim of domestic violence, can call Southern Valley Alliance at 952-873-4214 for more information regarding the times and locations of the groups.


New Prague MCCL holds fundraiser

The New Prague Area Chapter of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) is holding its annual fall fundraiser. Happenings coupon books, which offer discounts up to 50 percent on entertainment and dining in the area, will be available for sale now through mid-October only.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to support pro-life activities on the state and local level. Call Mary Frost (952-758-4222) or Carol Solheid (952-758-3235) to purchase a book.
