AA groups meet regularly in New Prague New Prague Alcoholics Anonymous holds five meetings each week in New Prague. The organization meets at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 8 p.m. Mondays, 8 p.m. Thursdays and 9 a.m. Fridays. Meetings are held at New Prague Alliance Church at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. Alanon, for friends and families of alcoholics, also meets at 8 p.m. Mondays at Holy Trinity. Narcotics Anonymous meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at FaithPoint Lutheran Church (the former State Bank of New Prague building). Call 952-457-2389 for more information.
St.Wenceslaus offering pillow cleaning Sept. 7 Carlson’s Pillow Cleaning Service will be at the St. Wenceslaus Parish Activity Center in New Prague from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. The early drop off is from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6. Pillows will be cleaned, deodorized, sanitized and fluffed. This is a mobile unit that offers same day service. Wheatland Twin Lakes Sportsmen Club to hold picnic The Wheatland Twin Lakes Sportsmen Club’s Annual Club Picnic is Saturday, Sept. 7, at Marion Flicek’s starting at 3 p.m. with the meal at 5 p.m. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass. Brats, hot dogs, buns and beverages will be provided. Club officers are president Greg Busch, vice president Marion Flicek, secretary Marilyn Richter, treasurer Darla Ceplecha, directors Rick Hanzlik, Andy Kucera and Orville Richter.
Czech Heritage Club meets Sept. 10 The public is welcome to attend the upcoming meeting of the Czech Heritage Club to be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in the upstairs meeting room of the New Prague City Hall. A short business meeting will be followed by a light lunch.
Growing Through Grief support on Sept. 12 Designed to meet the needs of those experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one or those companioning someone experiencing loss, Growing Through Grief support can help through education and support. Whether your loss has happened recently or several years ago, this support group can help you through a lonely and frightening time. The meeting will be held from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Solarium at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague. Registration appreciated. Prairie Quilters of New Prague meet Sept. 12 The Prairie Quilters of the New Prague area will hold its next meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, on the second floor of City Hall. This will begin the group’s 13th year as an organization. There will be show and tell, reveal secret quilting sisters and draw for new ones, and the schedule for the 2013-14 year.
