Milton Novotny, 88

Milton Henry Novotny, 88, of Le Center, died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at Central Health Care Center in Le Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery, with Rev. David Aaker officiating.

Burial will be at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery. Pallbearers will be David, Steven, Michael and Russell Novotny, Gerald and Joe Prchal.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at the Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Milton was born July 11, 1919, in Le Sueur County, a son of Henry Peter and Antonio Anna (Janovsky) Novotny. He attended country school in the Montgomery area and was a dairy and livestock farmer in the rural Montgomery/Le Center area. Milton married Lorraine Janovsky on September 14, 1943, in Montgomery. He enjoyed farming, old-time music and polka dances.

He is survived by four sons, Gary (Marilyn) Novotny, Le Center, Marvin (Kathy) Novotny, Le Center, Gordon (Nina) Novotny, Philippine Islands, and Dale (Kathleen) Novotny, Plymouth; two daughters, Gail (Francis) Deutsch, Prior Lake, and Joan Novotny, New Prague; two sisters, Evelyn Fierst, Brooklyn Center, and Mary Ann Wilcox, Woodlands, TX; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994; his parents; and a brother, Marlin Novotny in 1940 at age 7.
