MnDOT advises no travel
MANKATO, Minn. – (10:35 am) The Minnesota Department of Transportation is advising that an additional county in southcentral Minnesota has been added to the no travel advisory due to blizzard conditions and near zero visibility.
The following county in southcentral Minnesota has been added to the no travel advisory: Waseca. A no travel advisory was enacted earlier this morning (8:15 a.m.) and remains in effect for the following counties: Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, Martin, Nobles, Rock and Watonwan.
Motorists are advised not to travel in these counties until conditions improve.
Other counties may be added to the no travel advisory if conditions require including: Blue Earth, Brown, Le Sueur, Nicollet and Sibley.
With the forecasted dangerous winds and snow, MnDOT officials are preparing for possible interstate and highway closures. Visibility will be dramatically reduced, if not reduced to zero and roads plugged with snow.
