Montgomery Historical Society annual meeting

The Montgomery Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 31 at Hilltop Hall. The social hour begins at 6 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m. 

At 7:30 p.m. guest speaker Stephen Osman will give his presentation of the Dakota Sioux uprising. Osman is a graduate of St. Olaf College who recently retired as senior historian with the Minnesota Historical Society.  He managed Historic Fort Snelling for over three decades, and actively researches, speaks and writes about Minnesota's role in the Civil War and the Dakota War. 

There is no charge to attend the meeting, but the Historical Society appreciates a donation toward the cost of refreshments and the speaker.
