The Montgomery Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, Jan. 31 at Hilltop Hall. The social hour begins at 6 p.m. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

The American Red Cross  will hold a Montgomery Community Blood Drive at the American Legion Club on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 from 1 to 7 p.m.

The VFW Post 5340 and Auxiliary, and the American Legion Post #79 and Auxiliary are sponsoring the event.

Immaculate Conception Council of Catholic Women is sponsoring the annual Bingo on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the Immaculate Conception Civic Center in Lonsdale. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Five cent bingo games will be played from 12 to 4 p.m. Everyone of all ages is welcome.

Minnesota State University’s Dental Clinic will provide free dental care to children  under age 18 who do not have access to dental care or who cannot afford needed dental care.  This service will be available on January 31 from 1 to 8 p.m. and February 1 from 8 to 4 p.m. at MSU’s Dental Clinic, located in the lower level of Morris Hall.  “Give Kids a Smile” is coordinated statewide by the Minnesota Dental Association.  People interested in scheduling an appointment for free dental care for children may call (507)  389-2147.

Montgomery Mayor Jean Keogh will hold her “Chat with the Mayor” on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, from 8 to 10 a.m. at LaNette’s Antiques n’ Lace.
