Myles Kucera, 95

Myles R. Kucera, 95, of New Prague, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at the Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.

He was born January 6, 1915, in New Prague, a son of Thomas and Josephine (Prochaska) Kucera. A lifelong resident of New Prague, he attended St. Wenceslaus School and New Prague High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 during World War II, receiving a Purple Heart. Myles married Dorothy Fitzke on June 3, 1946, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 34 years and also farmed for 64 years.
