Myrtice Margie (Winterfeldt) Farber, 77

On January 12, 1940, Myrtice Margie (Winterfeldt) Farber was born on a farm in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. She died May 11, 2017 at Mayo Hospital in New Prague, Minnesota at 77 years old. Throughout her life, Myrt maintained a close relationship with her family and friends.

Myrt graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Mankato, Minnesota in 1959. She cared for patients young and old with her passion as a nurse at Queen of Peace Hospital in the nursery ward, Mala Strana Nursing Home, Valley View Nursing Home, as a nurse serving the employees of Green Giant, and lastly providing home health care.

On December 12, 1959, she married Elmer (Pete) Farber. Their son Brian was born in 1963 and daughter Brenda was born in 1965.

Myrt loved to travel with her husband, usually to visit their children. Travels included trips to California, Colorado, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Illinois, Germany, and a mission trip to Ecuador. She was a strong Christian who attended many bible studies and was an avid card player.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete (2003), her two sisters Delores Haynes and Leona Moore, sisters-in-law Bernice Stangler, LaVerna Winterfeldt and Gertrude Dieckmann, brothers-in-law LeRoy Dieckmann, Willard Gutzmer and Gordon Moore.

Myrt will be deeply missed by her son Brian Farber and daughter Brenda Farber Miller, grandchildren Belinda Farber, Brent Farber and Ethan Miller, great granddaughter Isabella Knish, brother Manley Winterfeldt, sister-in-law Dorothy Michel, several nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services were held at Triumphant Life Church, 221 2nd Avenue NW, Lonsdale Minnesota, on Sunday, May 14th at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
