New housing coalition forming

The South Central Minnesota Housing Coalition is beginning to take shape. The coalition’s first meeting was held in Waterville on April 20 at The Village.

Representatives from ThreeRivers Community Action, Minnesota Valley Action Council, the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development, Safe Families of Southern Minnesota, G & H Real Estate, Fairway Independent Mortgage, The Village in Waterville, and Frandsen Bank attended the meeting. Six of the thirteen in attendance are serving on the coalition’s executive committee.

The next meeting of the South Central Minnesota Housing Coalition will take place on Wednesday, May 18th from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at The Village in Waterville. A speaker from Minnesota Housing will present how dollars are dispersed for housing. Community leaders are invited to attend and take part in the coalition.
