New Market celebrates Fire-Rescue Days this weekend

New Market will be bustling this weekend, with games, food and music during New Market’s Fire-Rescue Days on Saturday and Sunday, June 24-25.

The annual celebration, which is organized by the New Market Fire Department, will offer activities for the entire family, beginning with a Kiddie Parade on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. Participating children and families will line up at Church Street and proceed down New Market’s Main Street. Following immediately after that will the sixth annual New Market City Parade at 1 p.m.

Jodi Muelken, a member of the fire department, said that so far there are 35 units signed up to participate in the parade.
