New Prague 8th grader wins state championship

McKenzie Neisen, who will be an eighth-grader at New Prague Middle School, won the Minnesota Junior PGA Championship for 13-15-year-olds Monday, Aug. 3, at St. Cloud Country Club in St. Cloud.

She shot a 77 on a par 72 course. By winning this tournament she qualified to be a member of the 2010 Minnesota/Wisconsin Cup matches which will take place next July.

McKenzie was a member of the New Prague High School girls golf team as a seventh grader and competed at this year's state tournament. She is the daughter of Chris and Angie Neisen of New Prague.
