New Prague sisters share stories of living with rare genetic disorder

The girls have so much to offer. They have such positive attitudes.
New Prague High School teacher Julisa Fjeldahl was talking about Kelsey and Nicole Novak, daughters of Roger and Cathy Novak of New Prague, who are students at the high school. The sisters have Morquio Syndrome, a disease that affects their bones and stunts their growth. The two are very open about their condition.
Kelsey, a senior, and Nicole, a sophomore, along with their mom recently talked with their peers about life with the rare disease during Fjeldahl's child development class. This wasn't the first time they've discussed it with students.
Cathy estimates that Kelsey was in fifth grade when Fjeldahl approached her about talking about it.
