New Prague students accept the Academic Challenge

A group of students at New Prague High School have been accepting a chance to test their knowledge as members of the school's Academic Challenge team.

The 12 students have been competing against teams from Red Wing, Hutchinson, Prior Lake, Northfield and Holy Angels since December.

Academic Challenge is sanctioned through the Minnesota High School League. The competitions have students testing their know-ledge with a series of questions. Every time a team answers a question correctly, they receive points.

This is the first year for the Academic Challenge team. Prior to this year, New Prague Community Education sponsored a similar team, Knowledge Bowl, which was not an MSHSL-sanctioned event.

New Prague High School teachers Dara Bishop and Janelle Anderson have been the coaches all three years.
