New Prague students shine in Basic Skills Test

The results of the latest Basic Skills Tests (BST) in math, reading and writing have been tabulated and those results couldn’t be more favorable for New Prague Area School students

Eighth graders were tested in math and reading while sophomores were tested in writing.

Both groups did exceptionally, surpassing the state average by a significant margin.

The eighth graders had a 94 percent passing percentage in reading and 90 percent in math. The state averages in both categories are 85 and 74 respectively.

A total of 97 percent of the sophomores passed the writing test, compared to the 91 percent state-wide average.
