New Prague Webelos attend Wisconsin camp

Ten Webelos from New Prague’s Pack 323 were able to experience four-days of camping as they attended Navajo Camp at Tomahawk Scout Reservation in Birchwood, WI, north of Rice Lake, WI, July 21-24.

Navajo Camp was the first time most of the boys camped at the facility. When the 10, who are all second-year Webelos, cross over to Boy Scouts at age 11 in the sixth grade they can attend a weeklong program at the camp.

On Friday night the Webelos attended a Court of Honor program at the Boy Scout camp nearby. At the Court of Honor New Prague Troop 323 recognized 32 boys for their rank advancements and merit badge accomplishments during a campfire on the last night of their one-week experience at camp. Senior Patrol Leader Sam Jirik emceed the event.

The 2,500-acre Scout Reservation sits on Long Lake with over seven-miles of shoreline. Up to 10,000 Boy Scouts use the facility per year.
