New Prague woman hurt in crash

A collision near Lonsdale late Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 30, sent a New Prague woman to the hospital.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Evelyn Simon, 85, of New Prague, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Charles Simon, 63, of San Clemente, CA. The 2005 Ford Focus was southbound on State Highway 19 near Rice County Road 2 on the north edge of Lonsdale when it collided with a northbound 1999 Pontiac Grand Am that was driven by a 16-year-old juvenile male, also from New Prague.
Evelyn Simon was taken by Northfield Ambulance to the Mayo Clinic Healt System Hospital in New Prague with what the accident report said were “non-life threatening injuries.” Neither Charles Simon nor the juvenile were injured in the crash.
The State patrol is investigating the crash. Lonsdale Police and the Rice County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
