No Christmas concert planned this season

The New Prague Area Community Christmas Concert. will not be part of this year's holiday traditions. The New Prague Area Historical Society, which sponsors the event, decided not to hold the concert, partly because the New Prague Community Band is currently without a director. Shari Howell decided to step down from the position this fall. She took over as director in 2006 from Sandy Gallagher. The band has been one of the primary participants of the concert.

Dennis Dvorak, president of the historical society, said the local organization has appreciated the public's support of the event in the past.
