Northfield advances to Prep Bowl

Northfield defeated top-ranked Orono 31-12 Friday, Nov. 14 in the State Class AAAA semifinals to advance to the championship game Saturday, Nov. 29, in the annual Prep Bowl. The Raiders will face Mankato West at 3 p.m. in the final game of the two-day event.

The game is a rematch from the season opener, when the Scarlets beat the Raiders 35-13. West is 12-1 with their only loss to Owatonna. Northfield is 10-3, losing to West, Farmington and Hutchinson.

The schedule for the Prep Bowl is:

Friday, Nov. 28

10 a.m. - 9-man, Houston vs. Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley

1 p.m. - Class A, Royalton vs. Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg

4 p.m. - Class AA, Caledonia vs. Luverne

7 p.m. - Class AAAAA, Blaine vs. Wayzata

Saturday, Nov. 29

noon - Class AAA, DeLaSalle vs. Glencoe-Silver Lake

3 p.m. - Class AAAA, Northfield vs. Mankato West.
