The devastation caused by last week's 7.0 earthquake in the impoverished nation of Haiti has left a New Prague couple emotionally shaken, but healthy.
Tracy Stepka said her parents, Harold (Butch) and Karen Louisiana, called her early Wednesday morning to say they were OK. The earthquake caused extensive damage on the island nation.
The Louisianas, who are retired, have been in Haiti since September. Tracy said the two have done mission work there for 15 years, and for the last four years have spent nine months out of each year there.
