NP Sportsmen donate to youth programs

The New Prague Sportsmen's Club has teamed with the Sand Creek Gray Beards of the National Wild Turkey Federation to help support local youth programs, such as the Jakes (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship), Xtreme Jakes (program for youth ages 13-17), and the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP).

The NASP program is sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the National Wild Turkey Federation and Arrowsport Foundation. The archery program is popular with teachers and students because everyone can compete fairly, regardless of size, gender or athletic talent. In fact, archery is often most popular with students that lag behind in other athletic activities.

The New Prague Sportsmen's Club made a $4,000 donation to the National Wild Turkey Federation to support these programs.

Any youth ages 5-17 interested in receiving a free youth conservation magazine (four issues a year) that features articles for young hunters and contests can email Snyder at HDdickydo@aol.com or call 952-758-4678.
